I used to think I was abnormal for spending almost $200-300 every month, sometimes even up to 500 euros, on new things. But these people are in a league of their own. I never, ever buy clothing with brand names displayed prominently. The only exception I allow is a small logo on the left side of some items I wear daily-like to the grocery store, work (when I don't have meetings with clients), the gym, the cinema, the club, and similar places. For dinners with clients, serious meetings, outings with my wife, weddings, the opera, the theater, and similar events, my clothing has no logos or brand names. My cufflinks are unbranded, shirts have no logos, shoes have no markings, and ties are plain without patterns or brand names. A watch is always essential, and the leather strap must match the color of my belt and shoes. To complement all this, I wear a subtle fragrance that is not too sweet or aggressive, with a hint of freshness. My most expensive items are suits from Huntsman, Brioni, Paul Stuart, Charles Tyrwhitt, Oxxford Clothes, and so on. I enjoy scheduling time at reputable tailor shops when I travel to have suits custom-made, especially in England. I am from Norway, and in Norway, we don't like to show off through our clothing. What we see on the streets in the USA and a few other countries, where brands and logos are "shouting" from every garment, we consider such people uneducated and of low intellect.

The reason for my sneakers purchase is I could not find an elevated pair of non-designer sneakers that are dressy to wear out. I didn't want to wear my gym sneakers so I purchased 5 sneakers to rotate with outfits. I own a pair of Ermenegildo Zegna $350 Navy, Salvatorre Ferragamo $167 white, 2 pairs of PRADA Downtown sneakers $642 each (green/white) and (red/black) and Tod's $417 Black. As you read, each is a different colorway to elevate different styles. I invested $2400 for all 5 sneakers. I own no designer bags, wallets, or clothes. I wear these sneakers to elevate outfits. I have no debt and have savings. I don't want to look rich nor do I want to flash and flex. I just want to look polished and simplistically elevated.
